9 things you probably didn't know about Gerard Butler

Greenland premieres in cinemas this week

We have good news! The wait is finally over as with the reopening of some cinemas in Latin America, the long-awaited thriller Greenland will premiere on the big screen in Mexico, Brazil and Bolivia on November 19 and 20, respectively.

The film is directed by Ric Roman Waugh and it stars Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin. What is it about? Jeff (Butler) and his family are part of the select group of people who, faced with the imminent threat of a meteorite that will explode on planet Earth, must reach the shelter assigned to them. A captivating thriller that leaves no room for rest but rather keeps us on edge and leaves us wanting to know more about this exciting story.

We would also like to share with you more information about Butler before accompanying him in this catastrophe where he will fight until the end to survive with his family.

1) He was born in Paisley, Scotland on November 13, 1969.

2) His inner circle calls him Gerry.

3) He studied law at the University of Glasgow - graduating with honors - as it was his great passion for many years.

4) As a teenager he was part of a rock band called Speed and went on to perform for ten thousand people in Edinburgh.

5) His pet is a pug and is called Lolita, like the classic book.

6) His favorite actor is Christian Bale.

7) He is the number one fan of the Spanish football player Sergio Ramos.

8) At 42 years old he opened up about having an addictive personality - he had alcohol problems in his youth- and decided to check into a clinic because of the excessive use of painkillers. The addiction arose when he had an accident shooting a surfing scene while filming a movie.

9) The Royal Humane Society of Scotland gave him a Certificate of Bravery after saving a person from drowning in a river - a hero in fiction and in real life!
