Elizabeth Lail: “a really solid script”

Statements of the protagonist of Countdown

Elizabeth Lail is happy with her starring role in Countdown. Director Justin Dec's cast election was right and the actress felt very well surrounded by Jordan Calloway, Tom Segura and PJ Byrne.

Countdown shows the threat of an app that tells its users’ when they will die. Young nurse Quinn (Lail) is tempted to use it and there she discovers a terrifying fact: she only has two days to live!

Elizabeth Lail: a rising star

In dialogue with the press, the actress explained what seduced her of the script written by the director himself: “I read a lot of scripts and when Countdown came my way it was a really solid script, it was a fun read and I connected with the relationship between Quinn and Matt (Calloway). It had all of the pieces of the puzzle. It had horror, heart and loads of social commentary with the app. That was a really pleasant surprise.”

She also delves into her character and her changes throughout the film: “The interesting thing about Quinn is that she is a strong character. In the beginning she is really dealing with the death of her mother and is disconnected from her family. She managed to become a nurse, so she has strength that way. Throughout the movie she kind of opens up more and more and at the end she's able to stand in her power.”
