Our directors: Jason Reitman, Tully’s director

A director who imprints his own style

Few people may doubt that Canadian Jason Reitman is already an acclaimed director at his 40 years. And, as if that were not enough, he has the potential to become one of the greats of the seventh art.

Being the son of director Ivan Reitman (responsible for mythical "Ghostbusters") and actress Genevieve Robert, he grew immersed in the film world and film sets. It sounds great. Although he has revealed that due to his extreme shyness in his childhood, he was "a little freaky, with a typical loser story". At that time, he dreamed of accompanying his father to the Oscar ceremony. But even more, he wanted his father to accompany him one day too. So it was.

A path on his own

Reitman insisted on forging his own style. And on the way he managed to do everything: direct, act, produce and write. He even started a business to finance his first shorts. His quality as an artist began to emerge with his first films Thank you for smoking (2005). And maturity came with the success of Juno (2007). Currently, he is watching the birth of his new film: Tully, the film in which from a fresh and deep angle it retraces the lights and shadows of the upbringing of sons and daughters.
