Diamond’s release: Devotion

The film will hit the big screen in December

Based on Adam Makos' bestseller, Devotion, the film tells the story of two young pilots from different worlds who are accepted into an elite squadron for training. On one side is Tom Hudner, a flawless soldier. On the other is Jesse Brown, a fiercely talented pilot, who would become the first African-American to fly in combat for the U.S. Navy. Tom and Jesse will form a strong friendship that will be tested on the challenging battlefield.

J. D. Dillard, who grew up listening to his father's experiences as the second African-American Blue Angel, knew he had to be the director of this film as soon as he first heard Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner's incredible story of friendship and devotion. The filmmaker shares a very personal connection to this story, as he has endless memories related to the aviation universe.

The film features a superb cast including Jonathan Majors (Captive State), Joe Jonas, Thomas Sadoski, and Glen Powell. This is not the first time Glen Powell presents a different perspective on American history in a film. We can see this in Hidden Talents, where the story focuses on the women responsible for a significant moment at NASA. In the case of Devotion, we will learn more about the first African-American Navy member.

Devotion will be in Latin American theaters in December.
