Traveling with Diamond: Second Act

A brief tour through New York City

One of Jennifer Lopez’s latest films (Hustlers, Parker) takes us to the most wonderful city in the United States: New York. Second Act follows a Costco employee who reinvents her life and shows that street smarts can take you far. It is a romantic comedy like Working Girl and Maid in Manhattan that conveys a special message: it is never too late for a second chance.

Let’s go through some of the most important places you should visit if you are in New York:

- Central Park: One of the largest urban parks in the world. It is 4 kilometers long and 800 meters wide and it consists of 340 hectares with lakes, castles, waterfalls, and forests.

- Times Square: One of the most famous areas of the city, full of lights and billboards. Here you can find some of the most important theaters and enjoy the Broadway plays.

- The Empire State Building: Although it is nowadays the sixth tallest building in the city, it was the tallest building in the world from 1931 to 1972. It offers incredible panoramic views of New York from every perspective.

- The Statue of Liberty: it is a 305-foot statue located on Liberty Island. It was unveiled in October 1886 as a gift from France to commemorate the centennial of the Declaration of Independence of the United States. The Statue of Liberty then became a symbol of hope, especially for the millions of immigrants who came to the city to start a new life.

- The Metropolitan Museum of Art opened in February 1872 when Robert Lee Jenkins donated his private collection, which grew increasingly in the following years until it reached two million objects. This museum hosts elements of classical cultures, Egyptian, and paintings by Rembrandt, Monet, and Cézanne, among others.

You can also visit other places such as High Line, Brooklyn Bridge, One World Observatory, Grand Central Terminal, The National September 11 Memorial & Museum, Little Italy, and so much more! If you’d like to watch a movie that explores the streets of New York, a good choice would be Molly’s Bet, starring Jessica Chastain (355).
