The film follows Will Spann, who is taking his soon-to-be ex-wife, Lisa, to her parent’s house when she mysteriously disappears. Desperate to find her, Will turns to the police, who are unhelpful and even suspicious. Determined to find Lisa, Will plunges into the city's crime area while escaping from the authorities in this intriguing and action-packed race against time.
The film features a great cast, including Gerard Butler (London Has Fallen; Greenland), Jaimie Alexander, Dani Deetté, and Russel Hornsby. One of the biggest challenges for the main character, Gerard Butler, was to improvise throughout the film. He only read the first ten pages of the script and some of these were not even included during filming. Last Seen Alive was shot in only eight days, and the actor immersed himself in different scenes without knowing what would happen. This was a huge adrenaline rush for him, a successful experiment that resulted in a thriller about how desperate circumstances can lead to extreme measures.
