Remakes, which consist of creating a new version of a previously released film, are an increasingly common resource in the seventh art. This kind of recreation may have several similarities and differences from the original film but the story is the same. One of the most common characteristics is that the original film is made in one country and then it is recreated in other corners of the world. Hard Hit is no exception to this rule.
In 2015, Dani de la Torre directed Retribution, a film about a banking executive named Carlos, who begins his daily routine as usual but when he tries to start his vehicle, he receives an anonymous call informing him that there is a bomb under his car. To avoid fatal consequences, Carlos must raise a large sum of money and silence the threat.
Another remake of this film has been released this year under the name Hard Hit. Directed by Kim Chang-ju and starring Jo Woo-jin, it has already become a big box-office hit in South Korea and will soon hit theaters in Latin America.
