SONGBIRD

The first feature shot in quarantine is already here

For many film lovers, 2020 is a year they want to forget and leave behind as quickly as possible. That's probably true, since 2021 comes with great expectations for the industry and new releases to enjoy on the big screen.

During quarantine, a film called Songbird was shot. It is directed by Adam Mason, produced by, among others, Michael Bay - known for being the producer of A Quite Place, Transformers, Armageddon-, and it will premiere next year in Latin America.

The film stars KJ Apa (Riverdale), Sofia Carson (Descendants), Alexandra Daddario (San Andreas, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters) and Demi Moore. The story -inspired by covid-19- takes place in 2024, after several years have passed since the pandemic devastated humanity. The covid-23 virus has mutated and is highly deadly, so all governments have decreed a new global lockdown. In that context, we will see Nico (Kj Apa), who is immune to the virus, trying to reunite with his girlfriend Sara (Carson), while facing the law and a ruthless society.

The filming took place in Los Angeles and it was the first feature to be shot as soon as restrictions were lifted.

"It's a dystopian, scary world, but it's a romantic movie about two people who want to be together, but they can't," says Mason. You can't miss it!
