Located in the volatile arenas of intelligence and global politics, director Peter Berg opens a new wave of modern combat cinema in Mile 22.
The story follows an elite paramilitary team embarking on an urgent mission to transport a foreign intelligence witness (Iko Uwais) from a US embassy- in Southeast Asia- to an airfield 22 miles away, and thus get him out of the country alive.
The witness has highly classified information, which could prevent terrorist attacks of catastrophic proportions. The team led by James Silva (Mark Wahlberg) must run against time and through unexpected enemy territory, while the military and police forces of the city will try to prevent the mission.
Mile 22. A cast that guarantees action
The elite team is guided at a distance by another tactical command known as Overwatch, which is in charge of the two-time Oscar nominee, John Malkovich. They are the ones who offer communication and supervision in real time to Silva's team.
