Helena Bonham Carter was born on May 26, 1966, in London, England. The daughter of a banker and a psychotherapist, she began her career in television and finally achieved stardom in her twenties after starring in A Room with a View. She managed to stand out for her great multifaceted talent, which was recognized through several Golden Globe and Oscar nominations.

She was also considered the great muse of director Tim Burton since she was part of many of his film projects. She is also universally recognized for playing Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter saga.

One of Helena Bonham Carter's latest films is One Life. The film follows Nicholas Winton, a British stockbroker and philanthropist who saved 669 children before World War II began. His mother, played by Helena, offered her help in this arduous challenge. In 1938, during a visit to Prague, Nicky met families in terrible conditions and decided to help them to prevent them from falling into the hands of the Nazis. Fifty years later, Nicholas lives tormented by the fate of the children he was unable to bring to safety in England, always blaming himself for not having done more. However, during a live BBC television program, he finally meets some of the survivors, now adults, who celebrate his great perseverance and heroism.
