Movies that will inspire you to change your life

Here are some recommendations of films that talk about second chances

The seventh art can tell stories that invite the viewer to reflect and make a change in their life that may go from changes in small habits that make a difference in the daily routine to big leaps of faith such as a new job, leaving a partner or getting engaged, or moving home.

What movies invite us to face our projects in a different way? Today we recommend several of them:

Song for Marion: the story revolves around Arthur, a grumpy retiree who can't understand how his wife stubbornly embarrasses herself by singing stupid songs with the unconventional neighborhood choir. However, choir director Elizabeth (Gemma Arterton) sees something special in the reluctant Arthur and tries to persuade him to join the group. Arthur will discover that it is never too late to change and, at 70, he finally dares to free his emotions and get closer to his son James.

Larry Crowne: Oscar winners Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts (Ben is Back) get together in this optimistic romantic comedy about how the hard knocks of the recession inspire an ordinary man to undergo a personal reinvention and find a second chance at life. Larry Crowne decides to enroll in a community college after being fired at work for not having a college degree. To his surprise, he falls in love with his Public Speaking teacher, Mercedes, who has lost as much passion for teaching as she has for her lazy husband.

Second Act: Starring Jennifer Lopez (Hustlers, Parker), the film tells the story of Maya Davilla, who has worked all her life at a local store but her lack of qualifications prevents her from getting a management position. Following an identity issue, Maya reinvents herself, impresses the CEO of a large company, and lands a job in management.

Virando a Página: the film follows Michaels Ray, an Englishman in Hollywood who had just won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay and was on top of the world. Fifteen years later, however, he breaks up, and not knowing how to move on, he accepts a job as a screenwriting professor at a small college in the United States. Although the idea doesn’t sound exciting, he is in for some big surprises as he encounters a second chance at love.
