Who is Ben Mendelsohn?

A look at the actor's career

Ben Mendelsohn was born on April 3, 1969, in Melbourne, his mother was a nurse and his father was a doctor. He showed interest in acting from a very young age, and even though he signed up for drama classes to easily approve the subject, he later discovered his great talent.

Since the eighties, Ben participated in countless productions in Australia. At the age of 15, he appeared in the series Special Squad and at 16 he already had his first leading role in The Henderson Kids. He also played supporting roles in various Hollywood films until success came with the Australian movie, Animal Kingdom. He was later part of several American productions, most of them blockbusters.

Where can you see Ben Mendelsohn now? The Australian actor is currently starring in To Catch a Killer. The film opens with a vicious attack in Baltimore by a lone gunman that leaves twenty-nine dead and not a single clue. Eleanor Falco (Shailene Woodley), a reserved but talented low-level cop, is recruited by FBI Special Agent Geoffrey Lammark to join the team in charge of identifying and apprehending the killer. This is a police thriller in which a policewoman and an FBI agent investigate a mass murder at the hands of a mysterious subject. The film explores different themes such as corruption, whether by the law or by politicians, and invites reflection on the care of the environment.
