Jessica Chastain (Molly’s Game) is an actress and film producer born in Sacramento, California, on March 24, 1977. Her film debut was in 2008 with the indie production Jolene and she has been shining since then. She was nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Actress in 2011 for her performance in The Help and she earned the same nominations for both awards for her participation in Zero Dark Thirty in 2012. She took home the Golden Globe Award that time.
In 2014, she got another Golden Globe nomination for her role in A Most Violent Year and then again for Miss Sloane two years later. In 2018, she was nominated for Best Actress for her role as Molly Bloom in Molly’s Game.
She is undoubtedly a great actress that has been making quite an impression in Hollywood with a remarkable trajectory. A few years ago, Time magazine named her as one of the most influential people in the world. And they were not wrong.
Chastain is actively involved in several causes and she has spoken out several times against discrimination against women and minorities in Hollywood. She has been immersed in issues of gender inequality and always speaks out in favor of equal pay for men and women. She was also a great promoter in the defense of victims of sexual harassment in the industry and has been a member of the Time's Up movement.
