One thing everyone is talking about in the cinema world is that Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet are going for the Oscar with the touching drama Beautiful Boy.
The rumor of the Oscar began with the trailer of this feature film based on a real story and directed by Felix Van Groeningen.
In this promising trailer we can already appreciate the enormous performance by Carrel, as the father of a teenager whose life is completely disrupted when becoming addicted to methamphetamine.
An inspiring relationship
When asked if he learned something new about addictions with Beautiful Boy, Carell said: "I learned that it does not discriminate against families that seem functional. It can happen to anyone at any time. This was not exactly new to me, but this movie made me reflect a lot."
When talking about his partner in the great duels that take place throughout the film, Carell emphasized: “we got along immediately with Timothée Chalamet. He is a great guy. It would be impossible for you not to like him, I think." And he finished: "he is intelligent, funny and talented, but above all, he is a kind and generous person. I think we clicked immediately."
