Emilia Jones was born on February 23, 2022, in Westminster, London. The daughter of a Welsh singer who became famous as a radio and television presenter, Emilia began working as an actress when she was eight. Later, she appeared in episodes of Doctor Who and spent her nights in the West End as part of the cast of Henry James' play The Turn of the Screw and as Fiona in the musical Shrek.
Nowadays, Emilia Jones stars in the series Locke and Key, which is now in its third season. However, she became internationally recognized with the film CODA. The remake of the French film The Belier Family tells the story of Ruby (Emilia Jones), who is the daughter of deaf parents and discovers with the help of her choir teacher (Eugenio Derbez) that she has a beautiful passion for music.
CODA was a turning point in her career. She was asked to spend nine months learning sign language to star in a feature film for the first time and she took on the challenge. She had to learn to fish on the high seas, spending twelve-hour days on a boat to play the role of a teenager who had spent her life doing so.
